I had the opportunity to make a poster for a pop-up event between two behemoths in the Toronto arts and culinary scene --
seeyousoon and Imanishi Japanese Kitchen

They had pitched that I do a sonny angel wearing a fillet XO fish sandwich...

...the dish that they initially thought they were going to serve at their pop-up.

But they also said I have full creative control--

so I went a slightly different route.

My friend Dawsyn recently got a job at Adobe and told me about this free (beta) 3d software they had released--Project Neo.

I had never done 3D before so I tried it out.

This took me roughly 2 hours to make. A first time 3D maker and first time user of a brand new software. Project Neo was incredibly intuitive.

But just before I would submit this render, I was told that they may not make the sandwich after all.

So I made this and they loved it!

...they only had one note:

Make it more obvious that it's a rendition of a sonny angel.

So I made this. But it felt too flat. Kinda boring.

So I made a small tweak, threw it into Storyboard Pro to add text (it's a do-it-all program that I'm most comfortable with), and voila!

The finished product!
Enjoy :)
